Apple Wallet pass for Shopify. Loyalty card, order tracking, lock-screen push.
Your customer keeps one card in Wallet. It shows their points balance and their refer-a-friend code, updates itself when either changes, and tracks each order in Apple's own Orders section. Every update arrives as a push from Apple, not as a text message you pay for.
Loyalty card in Apple Wallet: points balance and refer-a-friend code, updated live
The card is locked to two facts a customer actually checks: how many points they have and how to share their code. Nothing else competes for the space.
Front of the card
Points balance as the main value, refer-a-friend as the second row, and a QR code that opens the customer's personal share link. When points are earned or redeemed, the balance on the card changes without the customer doing anything.
Back of the card
Your terms, a support line, the current campaign message if one is running. Two layouts: classic, or hero with a full-width strip image behind the balance.
The card is issued by the same engine that runs your loyalty program and referral program, so the balance and the code on it are the ones that count at checkout.
Order tracking in Apple Wallet Orders: processing, shipped, out for delivery, delivered
On iOS 16 and later, orders live in the Orders section of Wallet with Apple's own layout. OfferGuard supplies the signed order data and keeps it current from your fulfillment webhooks.
Processing
Set when the order is paid. The card appears in Wallet Orders with your processing message.
Shipped
Set by the fulfillment webhook. Carrier and tracking number are attached when Shopify has them.
Out for delivery
Set from carrier updates on the fulfillment. Lock-screen push with your copy.
Delivered
The order closes in Wallet Orders. A final push confirms delivery.
Cancelled and partially fulfilled orders are handled too. You write the message for each status in the admin, or keep the defaults. On devices without Wallet Orders, the same tracking ships as a standard pass.
Push notifications without an SMS bill: APNs and web push
Two channels, both free per message. Wallet passes update through Apple's push service. Browsers subscribe to web push from your rewards page.
Apple push
- Order paid, shipped, out for delivery, delivered, cancelled
- A friend used your code and you earned a reward
- Sent only when status or tracking actually changed
- Direct connection to Apple, no third-party relay
Web push
- Customer opts in on your storefront rewards page
- Earns 30 loyalty points for subscribing
- Points-earned notifications land in the browser
- Works on Android and desktop, where Wallet does not

Push campaigns to every installed pass
Write a title, a message, and an optional link. OfferGuard pushes it to every active pass for your shop. The customer sees a lock-screen banner, and the message stays on the back of the card for seven days. You see how many passes were targeted, how many received it, and how many failed.
Draft
The campaign is saved before anything is sent, so a failed send is never lost.
Sending
Every active registration is pushed. Passes refetch and pick up the new message.
Sent
Counts recorded. The banner expires on its own after the active window.
Design presets and branding
Pick a preset, then override any color. Upload your logo, icon, and strip image. The loyalty card and the order pass share the palette so they look like one brand in Wallet.
Minimal dark
Midnight blue
Forest
Cream + ink
Sunset
Electric purple
Premium black + gold
Custom
Change a color or a label and every installed pass refreshes within a minute.
How customers add the pass
Three places, all one tap. No app to install, no account to create beyond the order they just placed.
Thank-you page
"Track this order in Apple Wallet" sits under the order summary, next to the share tiles.
Rewards page
Your storefront rewards page offers the loyalty card alongside points, tiers, and the referral link.
Referral block
The theme block shows an Add to Apple Wallet button to signed-in customers. You set the label.

Questions
What is the difference between the loyalty card and the order pass?
The loyalty card is a standard Wallet pass that shows the customer's points balance and refer-a-friend code, and it stays in Wallet for as long as they keep it. The order pass uses Apple's Wallet Orders system on iOS 16 and later, so the order appears in the Orders section of Wallet with Apple's own tracking layout, and it closes once the order is delivered or cancelled.
Do customers need to install anything?
No. They tap Add to Apple Wallet on the thank-you page, on your rewards page, or in the referral block on your storefront. The pass installs like a boarding pass. Updates arrive through Apple's push service without an app.
When does a push go out?
When an order changes status: paid, shipped, out for delivery, delivered, or cancelled. A push also goes out when a friend uses the customer's referral code and the reward is credited. Pushes only fire when the status or tracking actually changed, so a re-saved fulfillment does not spam anyone.
Can I message every customer who has the pass?
Yes. A push campaign sends a custom title and message to every installed pass at once. It shows as a lock-screen banner and stays on the back of the card for seven days by default.
